Inspired by the first baby snapping turtle I came across, this is a love letter to these amazing yet often misunderstood animals. In fact, one of the reasons snapping turtles evolved to snap is because of their bodies. Unlike most turtles, snappers have relatively small lower shells (plastrons), leaving much of their limbs and neck exposed – and they need to protect themselves somehow!
Carved and hand-printed with ink.
size: 5×5”
unframed
printed on high-quality, lightly textured paper
